When I was a kid I had worry dolls that I would tell all my problems before sleeping and I wanted to do my own version as I still use them today.
I decided to make Worry Friends. You tell them your problems while they gently glow and then tuck them into their space capsule and put it under your pillow. Whilst you sleep they will chat together and solve all your problems by morning.
You get 3 Aqua coloured Glow in the dark Worry Friends In a sturdy metal space capsule. It's not so clear in the photographs as they are so small but they are a slightly translucent and have a dusting of rose coloured shimmery dust, Pink noses and shaded eyes. They also come with a fleecy blanket to protect them as they chat.
Worry Dolls have a long history and originated in Guatemala.
In the dolls' original tradition, a local legend about the origin of the Muñeca quitapena tells the story of a Mayan princess named Ixmucane. The princess received worry dolls from the sun god which would allow her to solve "any problem a human could worry about". Seems pretty good.
"In traditional and modern times, worry dolls are given to brooding and sorrowful children. They would tell their doll about their sorrows, fears and worries, then hide it under their pillow during the night. After this, the child will literally sleep over the whole thing. The next morning, all sorrows are said to have been taken away by the worry dolls."
I am a huge believer in Talking through problems with friends so please make sure you use your worry friends as a first step towards sharing your problems with your human friends too.
